A. No, ALL choirs consist of both non-majors and majors.

A. No, only Chamber Choir and Concert Chorale require auditions.

Q. When do I need to audition for an ensemble?

A. University Singers, Cantamus, and Statesmen do not require an audition. For Chamber Choir and Concert Chorale, please email Dr. Z. Randall Stroope to secure an audition time.

A. Scholarship Audition Dates 2019-2020

      • Monday, January 28, 2019, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
      • Monday, February 11, 2019, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
      • Monday, February 17, 2019, Audition only, 1:00 - 4:00

Q. Are there scholarships available to non-majors who participate in ensembles?

A. Yes. There are scholarships available for Chamber Choir, Concert Chorale, and OSU Opera. Email Dr. Z. Randall Stroope in order to secure an audition time.

Q. Do I have to be a music major to take voice lessons?

A. No. However, you are required to be in an ensemble to be eligible to enroll for voice lessons.

Q. Is a musical theatre degree offered?

A. No, the School of Visual & Performing Arts does not offer this degree.
