OSU Opera (MUSI 2600/4600) is a top level performance experience for singers at Oklahoma State University. Among other things, this is designed to greatly enhance the singer's knowledge of the repertoire, and ability to move and sing on stagge.

The OSU Opera presents a fully staged, costumed, major opera with full orchestra each year in February. Recent opera performances include Susannah (Carlisle Floyd) and Die Fledermaus (Johann Strauss).

The OSU Opera performed Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi (both by Giacomo Puccini) February 2017.

The OSU Opera will be presenting Pirates of Penzance (Gilbert & Sullivan) in March 2018.

The OSU presents one major opera per year - fully costumed, staged and with full orchestra.  Students have the opportunity to sing lead roles as undergraduates and graduates - a very important aspect of the OSU opera, and for students auditioning for other opera companies in the future.

One does not have to be a music major to participate.  There are chorus parts, minor and major supporting roles, and lead roles available.
