Music Major Audition Requirements

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES:

There are two levels of acceptance at OSU:

 1)  Acceptance to Oklahoma State University as an institution of study (transcripts, ACT or SAT, recommendations, etc.), and
2)   Acceptance to a particular field of study within OSU.  If a student is
going to major in music, then one must be accepted by an audition into the School of Music at OSU.

*All Choral/Vocal auditions for incoming freshmen music majors must be completed by April 5.
Auditions for non-music majors and transfer students may be scheduled through summer.

The audition determines:

  1. Acceptance as a voice major at OSU.
  2.  Whether a student will be placed on the scholarship list.
  3.  Ensemble to which a student will be assigned.

  • What can you tell me about scholarships?
    • There are many scholarships available from the Financial Aid Office at OSU, including large academic awards. You will need to check with Financial Aide on those, as the Choral/Vocal office does not keep those records. Choral/Vocal scholarships are sent out on about March 1 of each season.
